After Jesus, meet Ben Lily in "Wild Faith"

-- Michigan-based, international actor DJ Perry has stepped into his new role as gruff Mountain Man Ben Lily. He was partially inspired by the actual mountain man Benjamin Lilly, a tracker/hunter known for protecting rancher's livestock from predators. Also Perry credits some of his inspiration as coming from his friend Dan "Grizzly Adams" Haggerty, start of the immensely popular "The Life & Times of Grizzly Adams" TV show. Dan sadly passed away this year with CDI's "40 Nights" being Dan's last movie.
"40 Nights" was the last time audiences saw DJ performing on the big screen as Jesus in the biblical telling of his forty nights in the wilderness. Lightworx Entertainment in the USA released the film in April of this year.
"After playing a role like Jesus, it does leave you asking yourself where do I go from here? " - DJ Perry
The answer came with the announcement of "Wild Faith," a family midWestern script about a mixed family living in 1870's Michigan. Benjamin Lily and his traveling companion Hester Thickett, played by Melissa Anschutz (Ashes of Eden, Bestseller) set out to assist the family dealing with a crisis situation.
The pilot feature is shooting now in Michigan with talk of expanding into a ten show series. The script was written by DJ Perry and is being produced by Collective Development Inc. The film is being directed by Jesse Low, director of "40 Nights" and plans to release in fall of 2017.
