The Racecourse Inn, Longford, Tasmania, wins international accommodation award

The Luxury Travel Guide has recognised Longford's The Racecourse Inn as "Best Luxury Bed and Breakfast - Tasmania" in their Australasia awards.

LONGFORD, Australia - Oct. 6, 2016 - PRLog -- Located in one of Tasmania's oldest towns, but just 20 minutes from Launceston in Tasmania's north, the award acknowledged the history of The Racecourse Inn, built by ex-convict William Deane in 1860, and an accommodation provider to weary travellers for nearly 160 years.

Sympathetically restored by former owners to include five en-suite bathrooms, the little Inn now offers accommodation in five spacious bedrooms furnished with antiques, and a gourmet cooked, country breakfast in the unique barrel-vaulted dining room, featuring fruit sourced from the Inn's orchard, bread from the local wood-fired bakery, and eggs from The Racecourse Inn's own flock of pedigree chickens.

Surrounded by Hawthorn and Privet hedges, the inn also features beautiful, rambling English style cottage gardens.  The judges of the LTG award  stated that "we also loved the location of this property, which is a short drive from a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the Tamar Valley Wine region".

Owners Annabelle Sandes and Richard Costin were thrilled with award, and look forward to welcoming both national and international guests in the forthcoming tourist season.
