CTA's Literary Division Announces Book Deals with Two Publishers

DC-based talent agency brokers deals with Sourcebooks and Fiery Seas Publishing
WASHINGTON - Oct. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Capital Talent Agency recently closed two book publishing deals on behalf of authors Chris "ROY" Taylor and Donna Migliaccio.

ROY Taylor's book, The Great Big Book of American Trivia, will be published in 2017 by Naperville, Illinois-based Sourcebooks Publishing. Taylor's book is a colorful journey around America, from the West Coast to the East Coast, and everything in between. Like no other trivia book on the market, The Great Big Book of American Trivia presents trivia using a fun, colorful, and educational format, making learning enjoyable and engaging. The book will appeal to boys and girls, young and old alike, and will cover every form of trivia, from politics to entertainment and the arts, sports, nature, geography, and history. The text, consisting of 400 bits of fascinating American trivia, will be interwoven with colorful and detailed illustrations, and children of all ages will be challenged by trying to find "Big Foot," who is cleverly hidden on each page.

"I hit on a great idea for a book and then surrounded myself with a great team, including Cynthia Kane, CTA's lead literary agent," said Taylor from his home in Australia, where he has published other illustrated books. "Sourcebooks will be a terrific home for my book. They have an amazing list of authors and illustrators, and the company strives to create the best publishing experience possible for its authors. They've got one eye on the present and, importantly, one on the future, in the form of e-books and novel Internet applications."

Author Donna Migliaccio's deal with Fiery Seas Publishing, also brokered by CTA's Cynthia Kane, is an agreement to publish the first two of Migliaccio's epic fantasy series, "The Gemeta Stone." The first book, Kinglet, expected in August 2017, introduces us to Kristan Gemeta, who has tragically lost his father, his kingdom, his courage, and his good name. Exiled into the wilds of Exilwald, Gemeta gathers an array of allies and friends in his quest to regain all that he has lost. The second book, Fiskur, expected around February 2018, draws the reader further into Gemeta's mystical and increasingly darker world.

The multi-book series, according to Migliaccio, departs from traditional fantasy "in its emphasis not only on the physical trials that the main character faces, but also on the mental and emotional toll that his quest takes on both him and others close to him. It lives somewhere between those two giants of fantasy literature, The Lord of the Rings and A Song of Fire and Ice."

"I feel so fortunate that Fiery Seas liked what they have seen so far," Migliaccio continued, "and I've tried hard to create characters with fully fleshed-out personalities – no one is simply 'good' or completely 'evil.' Like real people, their motives change and shift, creating fresh and unexpected conflicts. When you add in the magical elements, things can turn quite unpredictable in a flash!"
