ORLANDO, Fla. - Oct. 6, 2016 - PRLog -- In a move that will strengthen the company's niche offerings, Orlando-based Aquatic Design & Engineering announced visionary themed entertainment veteran John Polk as its newest Business Development Director. With a 35-year career in water features, lighting and special effects, Polk brings a distinct set of skills and expertise to the design and engineering company known around the globe for its captivating choreographed fountains, five-star resort amenities and other water features.

"Throughout John's career, he has been making magic with water," said ADE's president and creative director, Josh Martin. Previously, Polk held leadership roles at Walt Disney Imagineering, envisioning some of the most spectacular aquatic shows that integrate fog, lasers, pyrotechnics, video and music together with fountains and other special effects. Also during his time with a major fountain equipment manufacturer, he was responsible for many of the major attractions, spectaculars and place-making experiences at well-known entertainment companies such as Universal Studios, SeaWorld and LEGOLAND.

In his position as a business development director at ADE, Polk will serve development partners out of the company's Dallas office. Polk's effort will be on working with design professionals and ownership teams to help bring creative visions to engineering realities. As a decades-long member of the Themed Entertainment Association and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, his primary focus is the themed entertainment market, but Polk will also be adding his expertise to ADE's resort and water park work.
