LOS ANGELES - Oct. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Electronic pop duo Antiwave is quickly making a name for themselves with the release of their new single, "Holiday Heart." Penned as the first of many single releases to come, the LA/Long Beach based group premiered the single this week via tastemaker music blog Surviving The Golden Age. The track will be available this Friday (10/7) via online retailers.

Antiwave crafts nostalgia-laced tracks with trip hop, shoegaze and pop elements woven in. The duo is composed of singer/guitarist Heather Baker and guitarist Rachel Sinfield. Antiwave writes music that draws influence from the 80's, 90's and adds their own unique, modern sound. "Holiday Heart" was self-produced and engineered by Baker and mixed by Nathan Jenkins.

"Our music is a culmination of our favorite styles we grew up listening to including bands like The Cure, The Sneaker Pimps, Air, Cocteau Twins and Garbage" says Baker. "Ray and I have this kinetic musical connection. Antiwave has become our biggest source of expression and inspiration, in a way, it makes us feel nostalgic."

"Holiday Heart," in short, is inspired by the overwhelming feeling I think we all encounter that the past was filled with good times or was easier. This leads to the direct or indirect selective remembrance of moments in our lives. Yet we are products of the great pain and pleasure we endure, whether we know it or not." – Heather Baker / Antiwave

About Antiwave:

Antiwave is an electronic pop duo from Los Angeles, California whose music incorporates pop vocals with shoegaze, trip hop, and electronic soundscapes. Founded in 2015, the duo is comprised of longtime friends Heather Baker (vocals, producer, guitar/keys) and Ray Sinfield (guitar/keys, vocals) who originally hail from a nearby small town in Orange County, California.

The band writes, engineers and produces their own music and recently released their first single "Holiday Heart" mixed by Nathan Jenkins on October 9th 2016 via Apple Music, Spotify and other online retailers.

Originally known as Piano Heist, the group had written and recorded a catalogue of songs only to go unreleased due to creative differences with their producer. Over the next few years Baker started writing and producing music for commercials and soundtrack music for feature films including The Butcher Brothers movies Holy Ghost People (2013), A Beginner's Guide To Snuff (2016) and The Night Watchmen. During this time Baker became known for being a session and touring guitar player for the likes of Bonnie Mckee (Pulse Music Publishing), Krewella (Columbia Records), The Iron Maidens and currently plays with the band Fake Figures (members of Atreyu etc).

Antiwave's debut album is being planned for an early 2017 release.
