By: Bryce Resort A tradition of over 30 years, Oktoberfest is a celebration near and dear to Bryce Resort and the Lochers, the resort's founding family. "This event is a culmination of the summer season and a send off to winter," said Doug Grayson, marketing director of Bryce Resort. "We've done away with the admission fee this year as a thank you to the community for all the support we've received." This year's festivities open with an Alpen Horn fanfare on the mountain top with entertainment by the Heidi und Heimut Echo Show Band – from 2-5:00 p.m., great German sausages, Bavarian pretzels, German beer garden, German and local wines, pumpkin painting, beading, castle bounce, and corn hole. The lift will be running for leaf-peepers, too! On that same day, the Bryce Bike Park will be hosting Bike Bonanza, an all day riding event with giveaways from the biggest names in the business, and the golf course will be hosting a Fall Frolic Fun Format Tournament. Additionally, the Zipline Adventure and Disc Golf Course will be open ensuring activities for everyone in the family. Bike Bonanza will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and an all-you-can- The Fall Frolic Tournament is a Six-Six-Six fun event, with a different format every six holes. This event promises to be a lot of fun and is perfect for all levels of golfers. Entry fees for guests is only $39 and includes cart. The day culminates with the lighting of a bonfire honoring the Norse God, Ullr. "The bonfire signifies the burning of the elements from the previous ski season, bringing good luck to the upcoming one. We hope that Ullr smiles upon us and brings us lots of snow, ensuring a great season for all," said Grayson. Located in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, two hours west of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., Bryce is a member owned, four season sports and recreation resort. Amenities include disc golf, a bike park, zipline adventure, summer and winter tubing, a PGA rated 18-hole course, Lake Laura, several dining outlets, eight skiing and snowtubing trails, and the award winning Horst Locher Snowsports School.
