ATLANTA - Oct. 3, 2016 - PRLog -- The Black Women's Expo the three-day, experiential exposition celebrating the aspirations and achievements of women of African descent, will debut in Atlanta on Friday, October 7th, at the Georgia World Congress Center. Under the theme "She Matters," the BWE offers women an opportunity to get informed, empowered and enlightened, while discovering the latest trends and amazing new products and services specifically created for them. The Black Women's Expo is now the longest running exposition of its kind, and celebrated 22 years this spring.

Founder Merry Green of MGPG Events, Inc. is no stranger to Atlanta, where she previously produced Bishop T.D. Jakes' Family Expo in TBD. "At the Black Women's Expo we've always championed the fact that Black women matter, and we've sought to celebrate all the roles they fill in their family, career and community," said Green. "We are more than excited to be in Atlanta with this rallying cry of support for Black women across the country."

Presented by My Black Is Beautiful(MBIB), in partnership with Walgreens, the BWE expects over 20,000 people to attend during its three-day run in Atlanta. "We're honored to begin a partnership with the Black Women's Expo, where we will continue to motivate thousands of extraordinary women not just to join the community, but to truly take part in the dialogue that positively affects their confidence and perceptions of self-image," said Grace Janes, brand manager of My Black is Beautiful. BWE offers a rich cultural experience with informative seminars and panel discussions presented by notable local and national speakers. Throughout the weekend attendees can view educational exhibits and corporate displays. Historically, the standing-room only seminars have addressed such issues as health & wellness, racial equality, hair & beauty, travel, career advancement, business/entrepreneurship, the welfare of our children and much more. BWE's seminars and workshops will be far ranging and engaging, featuring topics that impact women's daily lives. While BWE targets women, there are elements for men, families and children. In between seminars, guests will be encouraged and uplifted with continuous live entertainment on the main stage featuring national recording artists and daily fashion shows.

In addition, BWE will offer ample opportunity for shopping and sampling from local and national vendors.  There will be themed pavilions including the Literary CafĂ©, which showcases African American authors and booksellers; a Hair & Beauty Pavilion and the Health & Wellness Pavilion, where local medical institutions provide much-needed health information and screenings, and the Kidz Korner, an exciting space for young people with interactive games, exercise and fun activities.

The BWE's Phenomenal Woman Awards Celebration will be heldon Thursday, October 6. The black-tie event celebrates the achievements of African-American women across a variety of categories and is the precursor to the opening of The Black Women's Expo on Friday.

Additional sponsors for BWE include State Farm, United Airlines, Georgia Chevrolet Dealers, Colgate, PNC Bank, KISS 104.1, Atlanta Department of Children & Family Services, Who's Who in Atlanta, Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Atlanta Daily World.
