MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Oct. 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Dr. Tee Adeleke, a distinguished foot & ankle surgical and advanced reconstruction & trauma specialist, has joined Orthopedic Associates of Middletown. His previous fellowship at the renowned American Foundation of Lower Extremity Surgery & Research in New Mexico, along with his comprehensive training at Des Moines University and The Western Pennsylvania Hospital—one of the most prestigious residencies in the country—are just two of the distinctive personal details that support OAM's continued trajectory as one of the most advanced and successful orthopedic specialty centers in New England.

Born in Canada of Nigerian parents, Dr. Adeleke grew up in New Orleans and studied in North Dakota, Iowa, Pennsylvania and New Mexico. A dynamic student athlete who played basketball collegiately, he selected foot and ankle surgery and reconstruction as a medical specialty after sustaining a severe ankle injury in college. Having spent much time in rehab and with orthopedic experts, he resolved to devote his professional life to helping people with similar injuries return to full, active and comfortable lives. It is because he was, and remains, such a committed sportsman that he is able to bring deep understanding and compassion to his role at OAM, where many patients are active amateur or semiprofessional athletes.

"In addition to being very empathetic, I am also keenly aware that each patient is unique and has his or her own specific ailment, which in turn affects their quality of life in very different ways," says Dr. Adeleke. "Knowing their unique situations helps me customize the best recovery plans."

After winning the competitive fellowship to the American Foundation of Lower Extremity Surgery & Research, Dr. Adeleke became immersed in comprehensive training from the knee to the foot, which is a departure from the way many Podiatric students learn. "Most Podiatric Physicians are trained in the foot and ankle, but I have been extensively trained from the knee down, and I know that makes a big difference in how I am now able to understand, diagnose and treat my patients."

Having recently relocated to Middletown, Dr. Adeleke says he is honored to be among a professional team that has proven itself for so long. Most OAM (http://www.oamct.com) physicians and surgeons have been with the organization for many years. "That speaks to why our group has such a strong reputation. Also, while we cover many orthopedic disciplines, as a group we have one focus, one vision, and that's to provide the best outcomes we possibly can." He adds that along with that goal, he is also very excited about the prospect of implementing innovative techniques for foot and ankle fusions as well as ankle joint replacement at OAM.

Among his other areas of specialty are arthritis, bone spurs, foot and ankle trauma, Charcot deformity, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, osteochondral lesions and more.
