SAN JOSE, Calif. - Sept. 30, 2016 - PRLog -- Christopher Chin has been helping people his entire life – from assisting his grandparents around the house to volunteering with mentally-challenged seniors and hospice services to serving as a deputy district attorney. Now Chris is excited to start his next journey as the owner of his own business, Home Helpers and Direct Link of Santa Clara.

Home Helpers is the nation's leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Direct Link is its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including fall sensors and automated medication dispensers. Home Helpers and Direct Link of Santa Clara serves San Jose, Santa Clara, Campbell, Sunnyvale as well as the surrounding communities.

"We have the most comprehensive services and resources to provide the best care available. Even if there's something we can't provide, we're happy to connect you with someone who can," Chin said. "My grandparents were a huge part of my life growing up and we were blessed to have a big family nearby to help each other.  However, we understand that time-constraints, distance and life may prevent others from being able to do the same.  We want to provide the care and support for those who need it in the region."

Prior to opening Home Helpers of Santa Clara, Chin served as a Deputy District Attorney for Alameda County, where, in addition to his case load, he ran the golf tournament and a high school mentoring program. Before earning his law degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, Chin graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's in political science and spent two years teaching middle school in New York City while obtaining a master's degree in teaching.

When he was young, Chin spent a lot of time with his grandparents. They'd go to the park, read the newspaper together, discuss politics and, while at their home, he would help clean-up, help them cook, spend time together and talk about life. As a teenager, Chin volunteered to read and spend time with mentally-challenged seniors. Then, during his time in New York, he was a roommate and a part-time caregiver for an older Hungarian woman with dementia (named Ibby). Currently Chin, in addition to this law career and new business, volunteers for two hospice agencies. Married with three young children, Chin has also been a leader at Grace Church of the Bay Area since its founding in 2011.

"Home Helpers is an extension of a passion I've had throughout my life. It allows me to do what I have always loved to do in a fun and wonderful way. My goal is that our family (caregivers and staff) becomes an extension of our client's families in a way that will help people live their lives to the fullest," Chin said.

Home Helpers and Direct Link of Santa Clara offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person's individual needs. Services offered include personal care such as grooming, bathing, ambulation, medication management and care management as well as respite care, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, companionship and transportation.

With Home Helpers, clients receives services tailored to meet their specific needs by caregivers who become an extension of their family. Home Helpers' full-range of home care services empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety and comfort of their own homes.

"When I lived with Ibby in New York, I learned the importance and incredible value of in-home care.  Home care brought her so much joy because it allowed her to stay in her own home and live independently.  This experience will always drive me to make Home Helpers great," Chin said.
