SOUTH LONDON, U.K. - Sept. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Three friends from South London have set up a social enterprise aimed at making a difference to young peoples' lives across London by using performing arts therapy as a platform to express creativity and solve issues that may occur in school, work or at home.

"Bridge the Gap is designed to help young people reach their success in ways they didn't think possible, but using a platform that most people wouldn't pull on, performing arts, especially since performing arts is something that is not rated as highly as other subjects in the UK curriculum such as Maths, English or Science." Tsion Martins, Director of Bridge the Gap Studios comments

Martins continued "We saw a lot of young people that we grew up with who were not given the opportunity to express their creativity, and instead turned to things that were detrimental to their success. Bridge the Gap Studios aims to change the perception of performing arts and inspire students to succeed the right way. We want to use this as an avenue to reach schools and community centres across London, as well as prepare students for a future that is consistently changing by teaching them how to harness their creativity and express themselves in order for them to stay away from gang culture, and have longevity in a career of their choice."

Having worked in drama and music for many years, Tsion, Dennis and Jonathan saw a gap in the market for a programme that uses performing arts therapy to harness young talent so decided to come together to create Bridge the Gap studios which provides various programmes and trainings that offers skills and valuable work experience by giving participants the opportunity to produce and perform their own music at local studios and be in a chance of winning a coveted arts award.

The organisation also runs a parents programme with Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities (SFSC), an independent parenting company, which works with families of the young people who participate in the programmes in order to make their home environment as conducive as their school environment.

Bridge The Gap Studios are a social enterprise that aims to work with young people all over London who are facing seriously challenging life situations. Our plan is to help them build solid connections which will help enable present and future success (at home, in education or their future aspirations).

We aim to utilise drama, music and performing arts to better help these young people with expressing, exploring and resolving issues. Our programs also introduce music as a medium of expression/understanding life values. These sessions are held in a safe, interactive group, or one to one environments.
