Venezuelan musician Sef Albertz premieres major work of Brazilian composer Marlos Nobre

LEIPZIG, Germany - Oct. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- Venezuelan musician Sef Albertz will be presenting in Germany another of his most recent and exciting projects. In addition to his artistic work as a composer - last June three of his own recent orchestral works were premiered in the city of Leipzig by the German pianist Anna-Maria Maak and the MDR Sinfonieorchester under its chief conductor Kristjan Järvi - Albertz is a requested interpreter of the guitar both in recitals and in chamber music ensembles as well as a soloist with several orchestras, performing on the most varied stages of Europe and Latin America, where he has given the premieres of concertante works by composers as Antonio Lauro, Alexandre Tansman or Rashid Kalimullien.

Important Iberoamerican composers have dedicated numerous works to him: i.a. the legendary icon of guitar composition, Cuban Leo Brouwer, the Spaniard Carlos Cruz de Castro, Diego Feinstein from Argentina or the Brazilian Maestro Marlos Nobre, whose latest guitar opus will receive its world premiere by Albertz, at the express request of the distinguished carioca composer. The concert takes place at the Oberlichtsaal in the Leipzig Stadtbibliothek on next November 9th, 2016.

The artistic collaboration between Sef Albertz and Marlos Nobre began in 2009, when the Brazilian wrote for and dedicated especially to his Venezuelan colleague the work 'Opus Lateinamerika', which Albertz premiered with great success in a sold out concert in the Peterskirche in Leipzig, with the composer in the audience, during the closing concert of the international Festival 'Con Guitarra' (www.conguitarra.de) under the cultural patronage of the UNESCO. Since then, Nobre doesn't skimp on compliments for Albertz, considering him "a great artist".

Sef Albertz gives his impressions about the new work: "The relationship with 'Opus Lateinamerika' makes me feel a special affection for this sonata. This new opus is a great contribution to the instrumental repertoire: there is a musical language that differentiates it of the 'typical guitar clichés' without losing the idiomatic writing of the instrument and demanding technical skills, which are associated with a masterly work. Guitarists can - should! - feel flattered and fortunate to have a composer of such an honorable international career who, without being interpreter of the instrument, provides an innovative and suitable work to the catalog of the guitar".
