A Night to R.E.M.ember fundraising event raises $100,000 for Sweet Dreamzzz!

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Sept. 27, 2016 - PRLog -- A Night to R.E.M.ember fundraising event raises $100,000 for Sweet Dreamzzz!

With fall upon us and the crispness of the cooler air, many of us are waiting to pull out our warmer coats and boots and heavier blankets for our beds. But for many children in Southeast Michigan and throughout the country, colder weather causes restless nights and uncomfortable sleeping arrangements due to lack of proper bedding, beds or even heat in their homes. Local nonprofit organization Sweet Dreamzzz, Inc. is dedicated to bringing nighttime warmth and comfort, along with an education about the importance of a good night's sleep, to children in need.  With the generous support of sponsors and donors from the most recent fundraiser, more children on their waitlist will go to bed with the necessary essentials to keep them warm and the knowledge about how to get a good night's sleep for their overall health and education.

On Saturday, September 10, Sweet Dreamzzz ™ hosted its 14th annual A Night to R.E.M.ember fundraiser event at Ford Field in Detroit, MI.  The evening was an opportunity for guests to tour the Lions' locker room, explore the field, and meet Roary, the Lions' famous mascot. Highlights of the evening included a large silent auction, a live auction, a heartfelt Call-to-Action, and a fun game of Head or Tails.  Music was provided by the Jarrod Champion Jazz Duo.

Sweet Dreamzzz would like to thank all of the event's sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor Reverie.  Additional sponsors were Sleep Number, Arrow Strategies, Bosco's Pizza Company, Design Systems, Inc. Hour Media, Sleep Solutions Home Medical, ARC Reprographics, Drew Besonson, Eagle Excavation, Inc., Guy, Hurley, Blaser & Heuer LLC, Hirotec America, Inc., McCarthy & Smith, Inc., Watch Me Grow Pediatrics, Rehmann, and Dinsmore and Shohl, LLP.

Attendees helped to raise over $100,000 for the Sweet Dreamzzz sleep education programs. Sweet Dreamzzz will be hosting their next R.E.M. (Rest. Educate.Motivate.) Sleep Education Program at GEE Elementary on Friday, September 30, 2016. This program will serve 190 at-risk students, grades K-5.
