BUFFALO, N.Y. - Sept. 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Just as news headlines are relaying information about Yahoo and what could be the biggest hack yet, Absolute Logic (www.absolutelogic.com), a firm providing technical support and technology consulting to Connecticut and New York businesses since 1991, today announced that the organization will be holding a Cyber Security Lunch and Learn Seminar on Wednesday, October 12, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Chef's Restaurant, 291 Seneca Street, Buffalo, New York 14204.  The seminar will take place again over breakfast on Thursday, October 13, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Millennium Hotel, 2040 Walden Avenue, Buffalo, New York 14225.

The free seminar, "7 Critical (and Growing) IT Security Threats EVERY Business Must Protect Against NOW to Avoid Cyber Attacks, Data Breach Lawsuits, Bank Fraud and Compliance Penalties," will focus on how attendees can protect themselves, their businesses, and their clients from cyber criminals.  The seminar will feature speakers from the Government's Cyber Threat Task Force as well as Attorney Christopher Weldon, founding partner of Keidel, Weldon & Cunningham, LLP, a national law firm specializing in insurance and risk, litigation and business protection, and a recognized expert in the legal aspects of cyber liability and risk mitigation; and Al Alper, founder and CEO of Absolute Logic and author of the recently released, Revealed!  The Secrets to Protecting Yourself from Cyber-Criminals.  All attendees will receive free online employee security training for all of their employees.

Specific topics will include security threats, bank fraud, social media threats, and the false security of firewalls and anti-virus software.  The seminar is geared toward C-level executives and managers concerned about lost or stolen devices, privacy of confidential information, and employment litigation (introduced when employees use personal devices to access company data).

"We continue to receive calls from businesses that have been the victim of cyber security attacks, but we'd much rather prevent these types of situations from happening in the first place," said Al Alper, founder and CEO of Absolute Logic.  "Cyber criminals have so many opportunities to steal data, it's imperative for business owners to be aware and know what they need to look out for, and to pass that information on to their employees as well.

"This seminar is a great chance for business owners to raise their awareness and learn strategies to stay protected, as well as learn how to proceed if they are a victim of a cyber attack," he added.

Seating is limited but spots are still available.  For more information or to register, please visit http://www.absolutelogic.com/NYcybersecpm to register for lunch on the 12th or http://www.absolutelogic.com/NYcybersecam for breakfast on the 13th, or call (855) 255-1550.
