New INDEE Game Plan For Homecoming Against The Charles City, IA Comets Proves Independence Is Tough

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa - Sept. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- The Homecoming court was selected and the INDEE Mustangs were ready to be the trial, jury and judge against the Charles City Comets! Once again the Independence Mustangs defense held their own early on against Charles City. The INDEE offense was running the ball well and receivers were getting open. The offense was limiting the turnover number and things were clicking. In the first half...the Independence Mustangs were running along side the Comets for most of the time. The Comets went into halftime leading 14-0.

As the second half started...INDEE was ready to get a win for the big Homecoming game. The band played marvelously during the break and that set the stage for a big second half. The offense continued to pound the running game and that Comet defense was getting a bit tired. However, some key miscues stalled the INDEE offense which put their defense back on the field. That led to a late passing bomb touchdown for the Charles City Comets and that score also turned out to be the final score...Charles City 21, Independence 0.
