The Beat Goes On: A Unique Collaboration of Multimedia Performances

This 9th annual event is the premier collaborative festival in the region. Combining visual art and music, the event will feature jazz musicians and painters simultaneously creating improvisational artworks.

DAVIS, Calif. - Sept. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- Join in a rare opportunity to celebrate the renaissance spirit that characterized the American collaborative art scene in the1950s and early 1960's for free at the John Natsoulas Center for the Arts at 521 First Street Davis, Ca. (www.natsoulas.com) On October 8th from 1pm-10pm the 9th Annual Davis Jazz & Beat Festival will provide an interactive visitor experience featuring live performances in a wide array of artistic mediums.

Performances by poets, painters, filmmakers and dancers will take place on two stages in the front of the John Natsoulas Center for the Arts. Notable artists include the Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet, Winners of the 2014, 2015 and 2016 of best collegiate jazz group in the country as well as world famous writer poet actor and cultural icon, Peter Coyote who is a distinguished writer and poet and is the chairman and one of the founders of the California Arts Council and was a big part of the San Francisco counter culture – he will also be signing his book. Also featuring music headliner Amendola vs. Blades – Will Blades and Scott Amendola conjure various sonic deities though only a duo.  In performance, Amendola and Blades cover everything from Avant-Garde to Funk, Bebop to Rock. Their live shows have been generating a buzz around the Bay Area.
