VICTORIA, British Columbia - Sept. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- CSFFA Hall of Fame inductee Dave Duncan, has sold One Velvet Glove, the fourth novel in the Chronicles of the King's Blades fantasy series, to Five Rivers Publishing.

So what happens next in the series? Sir Rhys, Sir Sharp, and Sir Trusty—three of the world's greatest swordsmen―are released from the Royal Guard in their twenties with no pension, no job, and no money. Rhys's father is the great Blade hero, Sir Spender, who finds himself in the same predicament. Spender knows of a fabulous treasure that was lost more than thirty years ago and thinks he knows where it may be. Why shouldn't the four of them go and look for it?

But King Ambrose also remembers that treasure and believes it belongs to him. Why shouldn't he try to stop them?

Originally from Scotland, Dave Duncan has lived all his adult life in Western Canada, having enjoyed a long career as a petroleum geologist before taking up writing. Since discovering that imaginary worlds are more satisfying than the real one, he has published more than forty-five novels, mostly in the fantasy genre, but also young adult, science fiction, and historical. He has at times been Sarah B. Franklin (but only for literary purposes) and Ken Hood (which is short for "D'ye Ken Whodunit?")

His most successful works have been fantasy series: The Seventh Sword, A Man of His Word and its sequel, A Handful of Men, and six books about The King's Blades.

He and Janet were married in 1959. They have one son and two daughters, who in turn are responsible for a spinoff series of four grandchildren. Dave now lives in Victoria, BC.

One Velvet Glove releases in both print and eBook February 1, 2018 from Five Rivers Publishing: http://www.fiveriverspublishing.com.
