Follow on Google News | Tara Furiani Selected to Pitch at CINE PitchFest Presented by A&E: Be OriginalBy: Tara Furiani & TaraBull Productions Launched in 2015, CINE PitchFest gives independent producers, writers and directors in each city the opportunity to pitch to one of the industry's largest cable networks. Each session is open to the public ($10 General Admission, Free Student Admission). Session Information: CINE PitchFest Presented by A&E: Be Original — LOS ANGELES, CA November 2, 2016 6:30 — 8:00pm (PT) Hosted by The Los Angeles Film School ABOUT TARA FURIANI: Tara Furiani is a trailblazing Talent Executive recognized as a bold, genuine cultural change agent who can conceive and lead substantial and systemic human capital strategies designed to deliver outstanding business results. So how the heck did she end up writing and getting selected to pitch a television show to a major cable network at such a prestigious event? Well, that story is one that involves heartache and loss. In May of 2016, Tara lost her father after a long battle with prostate cancer. In the days that followed, she changed and everyone noticed it. "Life really is too short and 'life' just smacked me and my whole family in the face. I decided to stop delaying my dreams and do something extraordinary… Tara's always had a flair for the dramatic and during her climb to the top of her field, she's experienced more life than most people… let alone most 35 year olds. With stories to tell, Tara set out on writing something that she would want to watch, loosely based on her own adventures. On August 12th Tara discovered that CINE was hosting a PitchFest, in conjunction with A&E: Be Original. With a renewed sense of purpose and direction, Tara submitted her idea to CINE that same day, which just happened to be the last day for entries. Then, on September 1st she got an email that read: "CINE PitchFest: You Have Been Selected to Pitch!". Her heart stopped and she knew her Dad is the one who once again, 'drove' her through, just has he always did when she was younger. These days, Tara is still working as a Talent Executive, is a busy mom to three boys, married to her high school best friend, and is busy preparing for this career changing opportunity on November 2nd. In her free time she enjoys singing karaoke, entertaining in her home, collecting (and drinking) wine, traveling, and of course… writing. ABOUT 'THE MACHINE': Sex, adultery, drinking, corporate politics, sexism, racism, lust, heartbreak, drugs, loss, love, family, obsession and friendships are all fair game for 'The Machine', an episodic dramedy that follows the lives of friends and colleagues Alex, Aubrey, Stevie and Nico. The story is told in a myriad of settings, and the plot unfolds through the use of flashback sequences, both recent and distant, as well as in the present. Alex, who's a funny, attractive, executive and is the clear ringleader of this motley crew, steers her longtime friends into the corporate world where they are greeted with instant success. After securing great jobs at a growing company, this dream quickly turns into a nightmare when they're unjustly fired by a new tyrant CEO. After a night of heavy drinking, pity partying and reminiscing about years of debauchery, the group realizes that they have a lot of interesting stories to tell. Through much convincing, and heavily influenced by Alex, they agree to start "The Machine" a TV Production Company, and begin to write what will, in later seasons, become a hit TV Show. The fictionalization of real-life takes the audience on a tour of the gang's escapades. Nothing is held back, and every secret each has ever kept is dissected and exposed in the name of making good television. As they explore their dark pasts, they find that their present is being influenced and we soon come to realize the lengths they'll go to find additional and continued inspiration for the show.
