DALLAS - Sept. 21, 2016 - PRLog -- StreetLights Residential, a design-driven developer of multifamily and mixed-use communities, announced its expansion to Florida with the opening of an office in Orlando. The office will be led by multifamily housing veteran, Edward Wood. Serving as senior vice president of development, Wood will be responsible for multifamily development activity in Orlando.

StreetLights identified Florida and the Southeast as a desirable market for expansion due to a strong economy and the demand for multifamily developments. The Orlando office will be the third Southeastern location for StreetLights, following the Atlanta office opening in August and Nashville, Tenn., office opening in 2015. StreetLights is based in Dallas and also has offices in Austin and Houston, San Diego and Phoenix.

"Over the last two years, StreetLights has been expanding throughout the southern half of the United States with new offices from San Diego to Orlando. We are excited about our growth and are looking forward to exciting opportunities in Orlando under Edward's leadership," said StreetLights' President of Development Tom Bakewell.

"I have built my career in Florida and I am looking forward to continuing that by leading a new market for StreetLights. Florida is a growing state and StreetLights will fit right in," said Wood.

Wood has nearly 30 years of experience in the industry. Most recently he was president of Concord Management Limited, where he spent seven years. Concord is one of the nation's largest privately owned affordable housing firms. Prior to that, he spent 17 years at Trammell Crow Residential (TCR), where his service spanned multiple disciplines, including multifamily development, acquisitions and property management. Wood held a variety of titles with the TCR / TCRS organization, including managing director of North Florida, president of the Southeast U.S. Region and president of the Florida Region. He also was an elected member of the TCR Board of Directors.

Wood is a member of the Urban Land Institute, has been active in the National Multifamily Housing Council and is a former regional board member of Apartment Life. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Marketing, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Central Florida and a master's degree in Business Administration from the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business, concentration in finance, where he graduated with highest honors.
