ScottMadden to Chair Infocast's Transmission Summit West

This event will take place September 26–28, 2016 at the San Diego Marriott La Jolla in San Diego, California. Mark Fronmuller, partner at ScottMadden, will chair the Executive Forum and provide opening remarks. "The timing of this conference is ideal, occurring three weeks after the California ISO Symposium. It will be interesting for the panelists and participants to weigh in on the impacts of the Symposium's messages with regard to the topics of regional planning, vehicle electrification, and competitive transmission," said Mr. Fronmuller. He will also moderate a panel during the main summit. Mr. Fronmuller's panel, Regional Integration and EIM Expansion, will discuss the effects of EIM expansion and what they mean for utilities and planners.

Additionally, Luke Martin, director at ScottMadden, will moderate a panel discussion during the Transmission Executive Forum on Renewable Energy Integration in an Era of Increasing Penetration. Mr. Martin's panel, Using Alternative Technologies to Provide Flexibility, will explore the impact of new technologies from advanced inverter technologies to static Watt compensators to dynamic line ratings. "As new technologies emerge and provide additional options for planners, it is important to understand how these alternate technologies can be integrated into transmission operations and the resulting implications for future T&D investments," said Mr. Martin.
