HOUSTON - Sept. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- Women motorcycle riders traveling from throughout the country and overseas will attempt to break the world record for the largest all-female motorcycle parade the inaugural Lace, Grace & Gears motorcycle rally in Beaumont, Texas, September 30 to October 2, 2016.

"Each and every woman counts!" said Layne Neuenfeldt, President of the Lace, Grace & Gears Executive Committee. "We are in the final push to recruit 242 additional women to register and ride to break and bring the world record to the U.S."

The current world record for largest all-female motorcycle parade was set in Australia with 1,002 women on April 9, 2016.

"Women are out fastest growing demographic," said Richard Bourgeois, General Manager of Cowboy Harley Davidson in Beaumont, Texas. "When approached about Lace, Grace & Gears, we were thrilled to sponsor the rally to support women riders and be part of history right here in Texas."

The Edwards Law Firm-sponsored Parade of Ladies will proceed from Crockett Street in Beaumont's historic district along a thirty-mile route on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

Online pre-registration for the three-day Lace, Grace & Gears rally is available at http://www.lacegracegears.com. All rally events, but the parade, are open to both male and female registrants. Friday and Saturday events include: five planned rides per day, mixers, live music, contests, and a casino night.

Onsite registration opens on Crockett Street on Friday, Sept. 30th at 8 a.m. and again on Saturday, Oct. 1st at 6 a.m., prior to the parade.

According to the Motorcycle Industry Council's 2015 Motorcycle Owners Survey, the number of women riders has doubled from 2003 to 2015 and accounts for 14% of the 9.2 million motorcycle owners in the U.S.  Among Generations X and Y, the percentage of women riders climbs to 17%.

"Lace, Grace & Gears is more than a rally. It's a women's movement to empower fellow riders and support important social causes in our communities," said Neuenfeldt.

Women Riders Now reports women riders prefer cruiser models overall ("The Top Ten Motorcycles Women Ride", 10/7/2015). Harley Davidson Motorcycles holds the largest market share, selling more motorcycles to women than all competitors combined, according to Claudia Garber, Director of Women's Outreach Marketing, as quoted by The Los Angeles Times ("More Women are Discovering the Thrill of Motorcycles", August 30, 2014).
