Instant Storage Helps Boys And Girls Club Expand Nutrition Program

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Sept. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- In order to serve their community, Instant Storage, an on-site storage provider in Bakersfield, California, has been donating portable storage containers to the Boys And Girls Club of Kern County since 2015.

The portable storage containers have enabled Boys And Girls Club to expand their Nutrition Program for children in need by freeing up valuable space to store more food. Due to increased demand for the Nutrition Program, Boys And Girls Club needed to move items out of the storage room at the Armstrong Youth Center into the storage units provided by Instant Storage.

The first two storage units that Instant Storage donated to the Boys And Girls Club were used to store program supplies, athletic equipment, personnel documents and event supplies. Moving these items into portable storage meant that the storage room could now be used exclusively for storing food and Nutrition Program supplies.

The storage units provide the Boys And Girls Club with the opportunity to better utilize the storage room at the Armstrong Youth Center for our Nutrition Program. This program proudly served over 48,606 well-balanced meals this past summer. With school in full swing, the Boys And Girls Club of Kern County now provide 5,500 "suppers" a week to hungry children.

Instant Storage recently donated two additional storage containers to the Boys And Girls Club in order to free up space for the conversion of the storage room into a commercial kitchen. Having a commercial kitchen will enable the Boys And Girls Club to serve meals to more children than ever before.
