PANIPAT, India - Sept. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- 14th September is the day slated as 'Hindi Diwas', the 2nd most spoken language of the world and spoken by nearly 500 million people across seven more countries namely Nepal, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Fiji and Mauritius.  . And it was for the first time in the history of Panipat Institute of Engineering and technology that the day was celebrated with most vigour and excitement. In fact it happened some 4 years after the World Hindi Conference which was first held in 1975 that the Constituent Assembly of India decided to adopt Hindi as an official language of the Indian Republic.

Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) is already known as the Top engineering and Management colleges of Haryana, Delhi NCR and North India. In the first place it is known for its infrastructure which is comparable to some of the universities of the USA, UK, Germany, Holland, Sweden and Singapore. The spacious and well lighted class rooms have the AC facility and a perfect learning environment. This facility is further supported with smart teaching aids, comfortable seating, Net-café, Wi-Fi facility, digital and book libraries, hostels for boys and girls and faculty houses amongst the tree grooves grown over the vast 16 acre campus which is situated on the NH1 leading from Delhi to Panipat at 70 mile stone.

The institute has earned its name and fame by dint of hard work and winning so many awards year after year as Best Engineering and Management College in 2016, Best in Placements in North India in 2016, The Best Engineering College IN NORTH INDIA and Best Placement IN NORTH INDIA in January 2015,Best Engineering College- 2014 in Delhi NCR, Academic Excellence in NCR-2014, Best Placement in NCR-2014,

It was the first time that the institute took the unique initiative of celebrating the Hindi Day and organised competitive events like essay writing, speech and poetry recitation. The overwhelming student participation brought home the point that Hindi too is a very popular language with the students of an English medium college.

Speaking on the occasion of prize distribution Shree Hari Om Tayal, Chairman PIET said, "Hindi, which is a descendent of Sanskrit, belongs to Indo-Iranian sub family of the Indo-European language which in turn is further influenced and enriched by other languages like Turkish, Persian, English and Arabic."

Shree Rakesh Tayal, Member BOG added, "I am very happy to see the student participation to such a vast level which assures us as Indians that this offspring of 400 AD  era Sanskrit, which was the literary language used by poets like Kalidas has also been a base of many of the English words along with the other parent language which is Persian. Today the Oxford Dictionary contains so many words which hitherto we thought were the typical Hindi words. Some of such words are commonly used by u e.g. 'jungle', thug, lassi and guru etc. he also added that the popularity of Hindi as of today I the outcome of so many 'World Hindi Conferences' held in countries like Mauritius, United Kingdom, Trinidad , Tobago and the United States etc."

He commended the way the program was organised and motivated the faculty team for their contribution to make Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology as the top colleges under Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and the AICTE, Delhi. .
