WACO, Texas - Sept. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- Baylor University, a nationally ranked private Christian research institution in Texas, will display a statue of Lord Ganesh, who is worshipped as god of wisdom and remover of obstacles by Hindus, from October one to December 31.

It will also showcase replica of "Allahabad and Sangam at the confluence of three rivers sacred to Hindus at the Ganges River in India, site of some of the largest gatherings of humans on earth" in an exhibition titled "Sacred Journeys" in its Mayborn Museum Complex.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, welcomed Baylor University's plan to display Lord Ganesh statue and termed it as a step in the positive direction and work towards fostering understanding among diverse faiths.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, commended the opportunity thus offered by Baylor of creating awareness about Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world offering deep philosophical thought with about one billion adherents.

Rajan Zed urged all US university museums to showcase various religions, thus inspiring interfaith dialogue; which would help making students well-nurtured, well-balanced, and enlightened citizens of tomorrow. It also made a good business sense to know the beliefs of "others" in a global community. Moreover, students should have knowledge of the entire society to become full participants in the society.
