By: Best Servies Unlimited LLC More than 28 million Americans could have their tax refunds delayed in 2017. Working families could find themselves waiting for tax refunds until late-February instead of the typical late-January timeframe because of the integrity provision of the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act of 2015 passed last December. Due to this requirement, the IRS will hold entire tax refunds for filers claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until at least February 15, 2017. According to a report issued by the National Council of State Legislatures, in 2015, there were 28 million recipients of EITC credits. Overall, $66 billion in Earned Income Tax Credits was received throughout the country.
