Sept. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- As of August 8th, 2016, the FDA's new rules were enacted for high-risk, online merchants selling e-cigarettes. This means that e-commerce owners and managers must have a system in place for full compliance.

The FDA's new rules regulating online e-cigarettes now follow many standard tobacco laws, such as:

• Checking customer IDs to prevent sales to minors
• Selling only to individuals 18 or older
• And not giving away free samples of newly-regulated tobacco products, including any of their components or parts

It is important to note that these rules apply to merchants selling any Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS). This includes e-cigarettes, vape pens, e-hookahs, e-cigars, personal vaporizers, and electronic pipes. Online merchants that manufacturer vapor products may also need to get a federal license.

By June 11, 2018, the FDA will be implementing new regulations involving health warning statements on product packaging and advertising.
