NTH Consultants Hires Karen Okonta to Strengthen Water Resources Capabilities

NORTHVILLE, Mich. - Sept. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- NTH Consultants, Ltd. (NTH) today announced that that Karen Okonta will join the water resources team as a Senior Project Professional. Ms. Okonta brings more than 26 years of experience in the environmental and hydrogeology fields to NTH and she has extensive experience related to environmental monitoring, project development, and regulatory compliance. Karen will split her time between the Northville, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio offices to strengthen NTH's capabilities and resources across these geographical markets. These markets, which NTH already serves, are areas directly affected by current water resources issues in the Great Lakes such as excessive sediment/nutrient discharge, surface water and storm water control and quality issues, and Western Lake Erie Basin degradation concerns.

Ms. Okonta, a graduate of University of Northern Iowa, is a proven leader whose areas of expertise include, waste and materials management; industrial/commercial compliance programs; development and implementation of environmental monitoring and compliance programs including landfill and pre-drill baseline monitoring; design and management of groundwater, surface water and storm water programs, and remedial investigations and corrective measures; and work with the private and public sector on regulatory compliance programs in several states.

In addition, Karen has extensive experience with beneficial use programs; SPCC and SWPP programs; NPDES permitting; modeling applications, data management and analyses, statistical evaluations, risk assessment, geochemical studies, contaminant fate and transport, and special research and development projects. She has also consulted for the International Joint Commission, a joint effort between Canada and the United States to resolve transboundary issues on shared water bodies, including the Great Lakes.
