GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Sept. 15, 2016 - PRLog -- This is the eighth year that Warner Norcross and Fifth Third Bank have sponsored an art venue, which is one of the five largest in the competition. The 56 artists will show their work in both indoor and outdoor spaces at the Fifth Third Center, 111 Lyon Street NW location. Artwork will include sculptures, installations, photographs, painting, fiber, mixed and other media.

The location, perfectly centered in the downtown footprint of ArtPrize, will feature 10 outdoor installations in addition to the 46 hosted indoors throughout the main lobby and first floor.

"Curating a space where amateur and serious art lovers alike can develop a creative dialogue around thought-provoking works continues to be a great opportunity for our two organizations," said Douglas A. Dozeman, managing partner of Warner Norcross.  "Our firm has long had a commitment to promoting arts in the Grand Rapids community, so when ArtPrize came on the scene eight years ago, we knew becoming a venue was a perfect opportunity."

Tom Welch, regional president of Fifth Third Bank, noted: "We are honored to again partner with Warner Norcross to provide a venue space for 56 local, national and international artists to share their work. ArtPrize continues to connect West Michigan residents with art, artists and visitors from communities across the county and around the world. We're excited to welcome neighbors and visitors as they enjoy and learn from ArtPrize artists and their works."

While many works hosted at Warner Norcross and Fifth Third Bank will include traditional oil paintings and metal sculptures, many of the featured artists will break out of what may be considered "typical" media:

• Zots Art Happening by Dawyane Zot: During this live painting on Friday, Sept. 23, Zot and other artists masquerading in the audience will come alive to create a mural that seemingly springs to life out spontaneously.
• Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Bridge Over the Ohio River at Sciotoville, Ohio by Harold Woods: A replica of a train bridge, the structure is one solid unit held together by more than 55,000 individual gas-welded connections.
• Everybody in Your Life by Anna Donahue: Using information and stories given to her from the audience, Donahue will develop a large, collective mural from a variety of live painting sessions.
• Flush IBD - Let's find a Cure for Crohn's & Colitis by Rebecca Takacs-Britz: This strong visual of painted toilets, which will be on the corner of Ottawa and Lyon, communicates the story of Crohns Disease and colitis and the silent suffering those afflicted with it have in a humorous way.

Installations will begin on Sept. 19. Additional details on all the Warner Norcross and Fifth Third Bank artists can be found at http://www.artprize.org/fifth-third-bankwarner-norcross-judd-llp.

ArtPrize bills itself as a radically open art competition that gives away the world's largest art prize.  Part arts festival and part social dialogue, ArtPrize winners are decided by public vote.  ArtPrize opens Sept. 21 and runs through Oct. 9.
