By: IntegraCare The Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone team raised $1,035.93 for the Alzheimer's Association through a number of fundraising events held in the months leading up to the September 10 Walk to End Alzheimer's in Blair County. "The entire event went very well and we were honored to be a part of this important fundraiser to End Alzheimer's," Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone joined Colonial Courtyard at Bedford, another senior living community operated by IntegraCare, during The Walk. The two IntegraCare communities combined to raise nearly $3,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone's four-member team in the Walk to End Alzheimer's was led by captain Debra Webb, CC Tyrone's Director of Activities. "We did a lot of events in order to raise the money we donated to the Alzheimer's Association, and it was a year-round process," Cowan said. "We had a spaghetti dinner and the car show. We had dress down days on Fridays. We are continually raising money for this great cause." The Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone group was among 30 teams and 267 participants who helped surpass the fund-raising goal. Overall, the Lakemont Park event raised $35,234.81, which was better than the initial goal set at $33,500, according to the Walk to End Alzheimer's/ For more info: http://www.integracare.com End
