James Island teen signs with top NYC modeling agency

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Sept. 14, 2016 - PRLog -- Sydney Proctor, 16, of James Island, SC, has been signed to a three-year modeling contract with Ford Models NYC. She joins the ranks of former Ford models Christie Brinkley, Naomi Campbell, Brooke Shields, Kim Basinger, Lindsay Lohan and Brooke Burke.

Procter is currently a sophomore at James Island Charter High School. She is a cheerleader, part of the IB Diploma Programme, and a member of the National Honor Society.

It was Proctor's attendance at the Discovery Spotlight Models & Talent Expo at College of Charleston's Sottile Theatre this past July that afforded her the opportunity to meet Ford agent Jordan Beam.

"Usually, you just know within moments of meeting a girl whether or not they have potential in this business," says Beam. "I knew Sydney was special. She is so charming and beautiful."

Along with Ford, Proctor was scouted by other top New York agency reps from Next Model Management, Muse Model Management and Wilhelmina Models, and reviewed by talent agents from Alpha Tyler Casting of Atlanta, GA, Karen Greer Models & Talent of Hollywood, FL, and Directions USA of Greensboro, NC.

"Sydney attended one of our local auditions and stood out right away due to her height and classic model looks," recalls Discovery Spotlight executive director Cory Dueger. "I have no doubt that this is the start of a very promising career for her in the fashion industry."

Proctor will travel to New York later this fall to shoot with Ford's photographers.
