The Traveling Family Book Signing

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Sept. 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Three years ago, as a farewell to the people that I befriended at 2Checkout, Inc. in Columbus, OH, I had a book signing and displayed 3 of my photographs. The book signing went really well and upon my return to Kentucky, I decided to put into motion an idea that my twin brother, Irucka Ajani, had shared with our parents, Deborah [DeBora] Mapp-Embry and Jim Embry, and myself the year before: having a family book signing (in Nashville, TN). I decided to take it one step further and suggested that we also include photographs because of how well my photographs had complemented my book signing in Columbus.

This was the start of what has become an annual event: a book signing (and art exhibit) in which various family members from our—Irucka Ajani and I—family participate. Last year, the book signing was in Nashville, TN, less than 48 hours before James R. Mapp, my grandfather, passed.

This year, I did not have the time to help plan another book signing, but my twin brother and I decided to head back to Huntington, West Virginia for the Ohio River Festival of Books[http://www.ohioriverbooks.org/] with other family members. A small portion of the extended Mapp family will be signing books at the 2016 Ohio River Festival of Books from 30 September-1 October. Irucka Ajani and I will be joined this year by our mother, Deborah [DeBora] Mapp-Embry and grandfather, James R. Mapp, in spirit through his eldest daughter, Brenda Hackett.
