Young Mount Alum to Become Marist Brother

BRONX, N.Y. - Sept. 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Luis Ramos, a graduate of Mount St. Michael Academy's Class of 2011, has officially began his year of Postulantcy, an early stage in the formation as a Marist Brother. It is a time for him to learn more about the lifestyle of the Marist Brothers and gain practical experience to help him understand whether or not he is called to this way of life. If Luis continues in this path, he could profess temporary vows three years from now, and would need at least four more years before being eligible to make a lifelong commitment.

After graduating from The Mount, Luis went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Iona College. He then served as Chair of the Marist Young Adult Advisory Committee and as Marist Volunteer at the Marist Brothers' Center at Esopus.

Mount Principal Bro. Steve had this to say: "We are pleased that a Mount graduate has decided to explore life as a Marist Brother. Luis is an excellent candidate and we wish him the best as he pursues the Marist lifestyle."
