Chamber Choir coming to Kent church

Series of charity concerts continues in musical Thanet village

BIRCHINGTON, U.K. - Sept. 9, 2016 - PRLog -- Cantate Chamber Choir, a popular East Kent choral group celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, will be returning to St Nicholas-at-Wade church on Sunday 18 September for an afternoon performance. The picturesque village church is renowned for good acoustics and its ongoing series of charity concerts, which this year have already included Thanet Light Orchestra, Revelation Strings, the Railway Swing Band, Thanet Gospel Choir and Ramsgate Operatic Society.

Cantate will be singing songs from the 16th century up to the modern day, ranging from classical works by Palestrina and Purcell up to popular contemporary tunes by Simon & Garfunkel and Procul Harum. The choir are directed and accompanied by legendary musician Chris Randall, who has performed all around the world but now focuses his energies on playing the organ at Minster church.

The concert starts at 3.00 p.m. Tickets are now available - £8 in advance (from St Nicholas post office), £10 on the door, and free entry to those 18 & under. There will be refreshments available, for a donation.
