By: Rotary Club of Woodland Hills "We are thrilled to offer this new gathering space for local families during one of the most entertaining and spookiest events of the year," said Diane Nelson, President of the Rotary Club of Woodland Hills. "By participating in this event, local residents will not only enjoy a fun Halloween experience, but will also contribute to the many causes supported by Rotary, and in particular the Valley's first RotarCare Clinic, which will provide free and low-cost medical care to underserved families and those without medical insurance," added Nelson. Since 1956, the Rotary Club of Woodland Hills has served the community through its commitment to service above self. Over the years, its cadre of hundreds of volunteers and donors has provided continuous support and resources to countless local schools, and nonprofit organizations serving youth, families, the elderly, disabled, and animals. The Club also contributes to initiatives that have an impact on the quality of life of individuals locally and around the world. Recipients of Rotary support include: the Pacific Lodge Boys Home (foster youth), the Department of Children and Family Services, Fullbright Elementary School, Reseda Elementary School, Serrania Elementary School, Taft High School, El Camino High School, Pierce College, San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, Rotaplast (international medical missions), Rotary Club of India mammogram mobile, and many others. "For the last ten years, the Rotary Club of Woodland Hills has been a great support to our school community," said Rosemarie Kubena, Principal at Reseda Elementary School. "They've helped students with tutoring, contributed to health resources, supported parents by enabling them to be proactive when it comes to their children's education, and provided opportunities to our families that they would otherwise not be able to attain. This is a big deal. It's really powerful for these families," added Kubena. To learn more about the Halloween Family Faire visit http://www.halloweenfaire.org.
