Tracker Now is Fully Funded on Kickstarter, Open Sources API for Development of New IoT Solutions

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. - Sept. 6, 2016 - PRLog -- Global tracking device company Tracker Now surpassed its Kickstarter crowdfunding goal and will ship product in December as promised. Through its research and development efforts for Tracker Now, the company discovered it has built a solid foundation for other Internet of Things (IoT) applications to be built upon.

"In the spirit of true entrepreneurship, we have open-sourced Tracker Now's framework  for other Application Program Interface (API) developers to build new IoT applications upon," said Joe Pantel, CEO of Tracker Now.

Developers will have access to tracking services, cellular and Wi-Fi communications, and BLE tags, as well as support for Arduino-compatible BLE smart tags.

"This move gives IoT developers a variety of options in how they want to build on our product. Our board already featured Cellular, GNSS (GPS), Wi-Fi and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) connectivity; adding an API was a logical step to becoming a versatile IoT development platform," added Pantel.

With the addition of open-source API functionality, the technology can become a comprehensive mobile monitoring solution with cloud-based data management. This process is enabled by the device's capability of simultaneously pairing with numerous Bluetooth low energy (BLE) smart tags.

Smart BLE tags can enable numerous monitoring functionalities such as temperature, wind, humidity, heart rate, and oxygen levels. Through the open-source Tracker Now API, you'll be able to design and interact with your own smart BLE tags. Data read from any BLE smart tag can be uploaded via cell signal or Wi-Fi to Tracker Now Cloud Services, where data can be further analyzed and managed. Automatic alerts based on data collected will also be part of the new cloud feature rollout.

The open-source API functionality will be available to other IoT developers in the fourth quarter of 2016.
