HONOLULU - Sept. 6, 2016 - PRLog -- An inspiring and gorgeous short film (https://vimeo.com/165165974) by Peabody Award-winning director Firdaus Kharas (http://www.chocmoose.com/about/) premiered today as part of the launch of #NatureForAll (http://www.natureforall.global/), a new global movement dedicated to making it easier for people from all walks of life to connect with nature and take action to support its conservation.  [To view and embed the video, visit here (https://vimeo.com/165165974).]

Debuting at the 2016 IUCN's World Conservation Congress (http://www.iucnworldconservationcongress.org/) in Honolulu, attended by global leaders and 8,000 delegates from 180 countries, the film was commissioned in association with PCI Media Impact by Parks Canada for the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

For more than 20 years, Kharas and his award-winning production company Chocolate Moose Media have used the unique power of animation to inspire behavior change and address challenges like HIV/AIDS, malaria, Ebola, diabetes, racism, inequality, and more. His animated shorts have been adapted in over 90 languages and viewed in over 150 countries, potentially reaching 5.75 billion people in their own language

The animation for #Nature4All was inspired by the bright and vivid native-style paintings of Caribbean artists such as Haitian artist Yves Jean Pierre. The film's protagonist, a colorful monarch butterfly, takes viewers on a journey through both pristine and urban landscapes, inspiring them to recall their first walk in a forest, first swim in a lake, or the first time they spotted wildlife.

"The most effective way to inspire behavior change is to forge a personal connection to the issue or challenge," said Kharas. "When people have an opportunity to experience the thrill and joy of nature firsthand, especially when young, they are more likely to forge a lifelong commitment to conservation. My goal for the film was to communicate how small but awe-inspiring moments in nature can have lasting impact."
