WESTWOOD, N.J. - Sept. 6, 2016 - PRLog -- The Friends of the Library, 501(c)3 nonprofit, will present the 8th annual "Taste of Westwood" at the Westwood Free Public Library on 49 Park Avenue on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 5 - 8 p.m.

The fundraiser, a tantalizing food-and-wine-tasting celebration, is made possible by the generosity of Westwood's finest restaurants and local businesses. Admission will include a tasting of the signature dishes from each participating establishment, as well as a sampling of top-rated wines and beers from around the region, paired specifically to compliment the restaurants' special selections.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Friends of the Library, the Westwood Public Library and its adult and children community programs.

"Taste of Westwood is sure to enrich the taste buds of Bergen County's food and wine connoisseurs but at its heart, it is truly something special, because it's held in the interest of enriching our Library's programs," said Library Director Martha Urbiel. "Besides being a fun and entertaining night out, seeing so many restaurants and local businesses come together in our community to donate their time and incredible food makes this an experience not to be missed!"

The event also features a 50/50 on-site raffle, live music, and a silent auction.  All items featured in the silent auction are donated by local Westwood businesses with proceeds going directly to the Westwood Public Library. Caffe Anello will provide one of this year's featured silent auction items. Chef John Vitale, Westwood Mayor John Birkner and the staff of Caffe Anello will donate a private four-course dinner for 8 - 10 guests, utilizing the freshest local ingredients paired with wines from Ventimiglia Vineyards.

"Libraries are pillars of communities all over the country. Every librarian I have met is selfless and points every child and adult in the right direction to find the right answers in life. I think they truly get less credit than they deserve for the role they play in education and intellectual development," said Chef John Vitale, of Caffe Anello. "We are happy to do anything to raise money for Westwood Library and their great staff. We hope to raise as much as we can for the library."

Tickets for the event will cost $55 per person in advance or $65 at the door, if available.  A package of four tickets can be purchased for $200. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting the Taste of Westwood's website www.tasteofwestwood.org, by calling (201) 664-0583 (tel:%28201%29%20664-0583) or at the Westwood Public Library, Caffe Anello, and Conrad's Confectionery.
