Star Studded line-up join WIADCA's New York Caribbean Carnival on the Parkway

Tthe West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) are joined by government officials, entertainers, and activists for the New York Caribbean Carnival, North America's largest dance party.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Sept. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- The eagerly awaited and most exciting event for 2016 - New York's Caribbean Carnival is here!   On Monday, September 5th, the West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) will kick off the New York Caribbean Carnival Parade, North America's largest dance party on Eastern Parkway from 11:00am – 6:00pm.

Grand Marshals include: Hon. Melissa Mark-Viverito, NY City Council Speaker, Hon. Barbara Atherly, Consul General of Guyana, HE Keith HL Tony Marshall, US Ambassador to Barbados, Conrad Ifill, President & CEO, Conrad's Famous Bakery.  Other notables expected to join the line-up are: NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo, NYC Mayor Bill deBlasio, Zakiya Carr Johnson, Dir. Race, Ethnicity & Social Inclusion Unit, US State Dept, Brooklyn DA Kenneth Thompson, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams, WIADCA's President William R. Howard, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, Senior Officials at the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), members of the Caribbean Consular Corp, CARICOM and several corporate sponsors along with many others.

In addition on the Parkway will be Civil Rights Activist, Reverend Al Sharpton, Gold Medalist, Tina Charles and Actress/Community Activist, Rosie Perez.  Mistress of Ceremonies of the VIP Breakfast, a part of the festivities starting the parade, will be Award-Winning Reporter and On-Air Personality, Cheryl Wills.

Steelband Panorama, the 12 steel orchestras vying for the 2016 Champion title, was won by D'Raddo.
