1200 Dogs Converge On Costa Mesa, Ca To Compete For Best In Show Honors September 10th & 11th 2016

COSTA MESA, Calif. - Sept. 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club (SAVKC) is pleased to announce that it will hold its 66^th annual AKC licensed all-breed dog show in Costa Mesa, CA at the Orange County Fair and Event Center on September 10^th and 11^th, 2016. Come watch and learn as over 1200 dogs will compete for the coveted Best in Show trophy.

"We are delighted to welcome spectators back to Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club's annual dog show at the Orange County Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA," said Dean Langwiser, President of SAVKC. "Not only is this a fun activity for families but it is the perfect place to talk to breed experts about topics such as training, grooming and the right breed for your lifestyle. An AKC dog show is also a great place to start your search for a responsible breeder."

Additional events include Obedience Trials and RALLY the newest craze in the companion dog sports. Rally is taking the nation by storm and offers both the AKC and mixed breed dogs and handlers an experience that is fun and energizing!

This year our silent auction will benefit the newly established Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club Police K9 Blood Bank Fund a partnership with Hemopet Blood Bank and the Orange County Police Canine Association (OCPCA). The SAVKC Police K9 Blood Bank Fund is a special fund established to help towards the care and welfare of the greyhounds that provide the blood product that is donated to police K9's by Hemopet. Our inaugural year of the SAVKC K9 Blood Bank Fund is dedicated to K9 Bruno of the Anaheim Police Department, End of Watch May 18, 2016. A special ceremony will be held Sunday September 11^th at 2pm to honor Bruno and his handler. K9 teams from throughout Orange County will be present to accept the award.

The show will be open 7AM-7PM daily.  Show hours for spectators 8AM – 6PM both days. Parking is $8 at the gate. Entry to the show is free. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG TO THE SHOW UNLESS YOU ARE ENTERED IN AN EVENT.

Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club is one of the oldest and most esteemed dog clubs west of the Mississippi. Established in 1950, SAVKC has hosted over 120 AKC all breed dog shows.  We are committed to advocacy for the purebred dog as a family companion, advancement of canine health and promotion of responsible dog ownership.
