The renovated DCI Albany facility offers 26 dialysis stations, new flooring, a new lighting system, an enlarged waiting room and free WiFi for patients to use while dialyzing. In addition, the new floor plan offers more space for each patient to dialyze in comfort. "You would not believe the difference these renovations have made," said Portia Wooden, area operations director. "When you're spending several hours a week receiving dialysis treatment, you want to be in a comfortable and beautiful setting. This renovation has been a great morale boost for both patients and staff." The open house is an opportunity for the community to meet the local staff and learn more about dialysis and kidney disease. DCI's chronic kidney disease education team, REACH Kidney Care, will present on maintaining proper kidney health, and there will also be a presentation on how dialysis works. "In 1976, Dr. Eugene Clark opened this facility," said Wooden. "Over the past forty years, it is amazing how much technology has advanced kidney care. We are excited to share with the community how dialysis at DCI Albany works." DCI Albany offers in-center hemodialysis Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. DCI Albany is welcoming new patients and patients traveling to the area who may need dialysis.
