FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Sept. 1, 2016 - PRLog -- Recent efforts to unionize Division I college football players and high school game officials have come before the National Labor Relations Board with results that could change amateur sports forever. At next week's meeting of the American Bar Association's Nonprofit Athletic Organizations Subcommittee, a panel of attorneys will discuss the legal issues involved in collective bargaining for athletes and officials in college and school sports. Cases before the National Labor Relations Board involving Northwestern University and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association will be discussed by attorneys working in labor law and college and high school governing body environments.

The panel will include Attorneys Donald Collins, Commissioner of the San Francisco Section of the California Interscholastic Federation, Nicole Horberg Decter, a partner in the Boston law firm of Segal Roitman, LLP . and Donald P. Tutson, Jr., Outside General Counsel to the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Moderating the program will be Alan Goldberger, a New Jersey attorney, and the author or "Sports Officiating: A Legal Guide."

The program, "A Flying Wedge? The 'Union' of Sports Law & Labor Law in Intercollegiate and Interscholastic Athletics" will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 as part of the American Bar Association's Section of Business Law Annual meeting at the Marriott Hotel Copley Place at Boston's Prudential Center.
