"We are so excited about our lineup for September and October.  Due to the number of topic requests we received from attendees in our first two months of programs, we are putting on two programs in each of these months," said Robin Thompson, producer and host of the ESI Insight Series.  "Our regular third Tuesday program on September 20th will feature guest speaker Susan Ippoliti Kavanagh, RP, CeDP, CLSP, currently Director of Client and Member Services at ACEDS, and former member of the Board of Directors for the National Federation of Paralegal Associations.  Susan will discuss the role of the paralegal in eDiscovery.  In our special edition program on Thursday, September 29th  iControl ESI experts Mark Walker and Jonathan Kafka will be joined by guest speaker Michael Quartararo of Stroock & Stroock & Lavaan, author of the definitive treatise on Project Management in eDiscovery, to look at the role of project management in eDiscovery," added Thompson.

About the Speakers

Susan Ippoliti Kavanagh, RP, CeDP, CLSP (https://www.linkedin.com/in/susanippolitikavanagh)has nearly 20 years of experience in the legal services and legal technology industry and is a subject matter expert in eDiscovery and litigation support, with experience extending to overseeing all aspects of litigation, providing legal technology services, and consulting with a variety of clients on best practices related to eDiscovery and litigation management. Susan has managed the eDiscovery Lifecycle on the national and international level, co-chaired the EDRM Code of Conduct working group, and has been a national speaker on eDiscovery and other Continuing Legal Education topics for many years.  Susan also launched one of the first law firm eDiscovery departments in upstate New York.   Her passion is to motivate and lead people in a direction towards positive change and results.  As the Director of Client & Member Services for the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS) she is committed to ensuring that ACEDS delivers a quality membership experience for eDiscovery professionals.   Susan has a B.S. in Political Science from St. John Fisher College, and her past leadership includes serving the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc. for nearly 10 years as VP & Director of Membership and VP & Director of Professional Development, respectively and serving the Digital Rochester Board of Directors in several leadership positions from 2008-2013.

Michael Quartararo (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mquartararo) is the Director of Litigation Support Services at New York-based Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, LLP. He is the author of "Project Management in Electronic Discovery," the only book to merge project management principles and best practices in electronic discovery. He is a teacher, a project management professional, and technologist with more than 18 years of experience in the legal services industry. A graduate of the State University of New York, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in psychology and music, he also studied law for one year at the University of London. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS), and he teaches eDiscovery and project management at Tempe, Arizona-based Bryan University, where he also sits on the university advisory board. He is the ACEDS liaison member to the Advisory Committee of the EDRM. In June of 2016 he published "Project Management in Electronic Discovery." Mike frequently writes and speaks on issues related to project management, eDiscovery and litigation support.

Mark Walker (http://www.linkedin.com/in/markgwalker) is VP of Advisory Services for iControl ESI, and is the author of multiple treatises on trial practice and preparation and is a frequent blogger and lecturer. Mark has nearly 20 years of trial paralegal experience, coordinating and managing the discovery for some of the nation's largest litigation. He is considered one of the leading technologists and advisors in our industry.
