Follow on Google News | WIADCA' s New York Caribbean Carnival kicks off with Reggae Unda Di StarsTthe West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) will kick off Labor Day with an exciting musical lineup starting on Thursday, September 1st and ending Monday, September 5th with North America's largest dance party on Eastern Parkway.
By: West Indian American Day Carnival Association Grand Marshals include: Hon. Melissa Mark-Viverito, NY City Council Speaker, Hon. Barbara Atherly, Consul General of Guyana, HE Keith HL Tony Marshall, US Ambassador to Barbados, Conrad Ifill, President & CEO, Conrad's Famous Bakery. Other notables expected to join the line-up are: NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo, NYC Mayor Bill deBlasio, Zakiya Carr Johnson, Dir. Race, Ethnicity & Social Inclusion Unit, US State Dept, Brooklyn DA Kenneth Thompson, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams, WIADCA's President William R. Howard, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, Senior Officials at the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), members of the Caribbean Consular Corp, CARICOM and several corporate sponsors along with many others. For the second year, WIADCA will again have 3 pre-teen Grand Marshals leading the Junior Parade - all very talented and exemplary children: They are: Henry Olisa (DJ-H20) Egypt Ify Ufele, CEO Chubiiline Bully Chasers and Jaheim Fraser from Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy. WIADCA sponsors include: Guinness, Con Edison, Healthfirst, Brooklyn Museum, NYSCA, WBLS 107.5FM & Hot 97FM, One Caribbean TV, TWU, CUNY, Caribbean Airlines, Caribbean Life, UFT, Daily News, MCU, McDonald's, Royal Wine Corp-Bartenura/ "We are delighted to have the support of all our returning partners along with some new ones for our 49th Annual New York Caribbean Carnival festivities.
