Captured, impassioned, and at times joyfully imprisoned by the gay community and their deliciously, effervescent lifestyle, I made it my life's ambition to delve full heartedly inside their universe and live vicariously infused in the soul of a gay man. In my quest to realize my mission, I managed to dance for more than a minute at the utmost thermogenic gay venues in the heart of New York City, I partied at the sexiest and most tantalizing discos on Fire Island, I consumed the pinkest tinted raspberry cosmos at the classiest clubs in South Beach and was kiss in the most explosive, frenzied and diverse night spots in London. While proudly embracing the title of "Fag Hag", I jubilantly seized opportunity to acquire my own gay nightclub. It was one of the oldest, most flamboyant and celebrated establishments on Long Island. Through the acquisition of "The Bunkhouse", I inherited the privilege and responsibility of producing, 'The Miss Gay Long Island Pageant', a venue for the very best in drag, where Queens from all over, vie for cash, prizes and the glorious treasured crown, worn proudly as a symbol of accomplishment in 'Larger Than Life" entertainment. Through this pageant I met the very best from Ru Paul's Drag Race, as I was honored to invite Michelle Visage, Phi Phi O'Hara, Sharon Needles, Bianca Del Rio, Bob The Drag Queen, and a host of others to my stage as judges or performers. I also proudly welcomed, Randy Jones, Robin Byrd, Michael Musto, Amanda Le Pore, Alaska Thunderfuck, and Carmen Carrera to the stage as well. My literary journey was born at age 16, while attending my first year of college at Long Island University as a nursing student. In my attempt to entertain myself while memorizing biochemistry, I watched old re-runs of "Star Trek". I became strangely fascinated with Leonard Nimoy, who portrayed Spock. After discovering a Star Trek store in Manhattan and its owner who soon became a boyfriend, I began writing for a monthly magazine called The Star Trek Giant Poster Book. Leonard Nimoy became my first celebrity interview. With my meager medical knowledge I was soon commissioned by Ballentine Books, publisher of the magazine, to write "The Star Trek Medical Reference Manual". It became a New York Times best-seller. It wasn't until 3 kids, 2 marriages, and a century later, through the efforts of several gay tabloids attempting to coerce me into purchasing ads for the gay nightclub that I once again resumed my writing career. About 6 months after my inauguration at Get Out Magazine, I began writing for an urban alternative quarterly based in NY. I soon began drafting oral parleys and live concert reviews for a prestigious UK music magazine both online and in print called Louder Than War and, most recently, The Huffington Post. Consequently the past several years have enabled me to acquire an elite collection of supreme artists that I have had heart-to-heart conversations with. An illustration of some of the most audacious personalities included in my acquisition have been the iconic grandmaster Annie Lennox, who is said to be as elusive as a unicorn. I have spoken with celebs including Brooke Shields, Cyndi Lauper, Melissa Etheridge, Jennifer Hudson, LeeAnn Rimes, Debra Cox, Taylor Dayne, Jody Watley, 98°, Color Me Bad, O-Town, Mary Lambert, Spandau Ballet, Rick Springfield, Andy Bell, Chaz Bono, Fran Drescher, Michelle Lee, Sandra Bernhard, Joanna Lumley, Jennifer Saunders, The Impractical Jokers, Monique, Annabella Lwin (Bow Wow Wow), Slim Jim Phantom (The Stray Cats) and Bruce Witkin (Hollywood Vampires).
