Anti-Trump Art And The Lack Of 'Hope And Change' By Julian Raven Painter Of 'Unafraid And Unashamed' Trump Painting

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Aug. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Rembrandt recognized the inseparable and intrinsic relationship between art and the artist. He saw the inseparable nature of the thing created from its creator, in this case the artist. Rembrandt said; "Painting is the grandchild of nature, it is related to God."

The Anti-Trump art produced over the last year, bears all of the hallmarks of a self created portrait and thermometer reading of the modern liberal contemporary political art scene. Art for years has drifted into a place where visceral emotional reactions to the shock and horror of the art are the 'thing' sought, which ultimately gives the artist fame and recognition.  The human experience expressed in superlative visions, existential quests and spiritual journeys is a distant historical echo rather than modern progressives painting a pathway to human progress, peace and prosperity.

The quest is on to see who can outdo the other by daring to offend, insult and ridicule for the ultimate end of personal fame and fortune. For what is the end of such art? Where does it lead? What does the created then create? What does it inspire? What are the 'children' of these artists contributing to the human experience?

Presidential candidate and GOP nominee Donald Trump has been the inspiration of a literal horde of modern political art, which in the end, in my opinion is a graphic self-portrait of the artists and the politics de-juor, than an actual accurate interpretation of Donald Trump.

Trump as poop, Hitler, blow up KKK doll, food, nasty nude, clown, school bus and plastic statue are the celebrated artistic expressions. There seems to be no end to the barrage of anti-Trump imagery that the left wing, liberal, anti-Trump artists go to, to take their shot at Trump. The questions remains, what has this slurry of art created other than to inflame the angers and protestations of the anti-Trump crowd and some of the Trump supporters?

Demagogic art about a so called demagogue is the typical result of a myopic and visionless liberal art world. I know that art has a prominent and deeply important place to play out in the historic human experience, but when the vast sum of this modern anti-Trump art is so childish, what is that saying about the artists?

If Rembrandt is right, and art or painting is akin to having children, so deeply attached to the artist, then the self portrait painted by the anti-Trump artists is nothing but embarrassing! They inadvertently paint themselves into the picture and define themselves by their very own creations. They cannot escape their own DNA being attached to their creations. After all of the inflamed emotional reactions have calmed down, there remains the demagogic work. By and large the works are shallow, childish, cynical, critical and dishonest and yet for now they are celebrated.

I am of the opinion that if you cannot paint the way by way of conveying brilliant visions which are greater than our human short sightedness then you have failed both the audience and the very gift you have. All that remains is the regurgitated shallow condition of your very own heart. Hearts filled with rage, envy, hatred, bitterness, frustration, contempt and malice etc. And no wonder the art world is always full of tragic art figures, it fuels them and then thrives of their negative energy.

The Jedi Mind trick of conceptual trickery, is used by many to beguile the visionless world into greater delusion, that somehow an orphaned orange plastic Trump statue is to be wowed about since it paints Trump as a monster. Oh my….

The artists elevate themselves into this position of perceptual power, having been given a license by the art world to be the eyes in the sky. They thus use their powers to point the finger forgetting that there are always three fingers pointing right back at them.

Yes art should be enshrined in truth. But for the sake of the future, the present and our history let our art transcend the mundane and childish scratching of poop, fart cushions and plastic to meaningful existential visions that transcend all of our common human frailties, failures and weaknesses.

If Trump is all of those things he is depicted as by this chorus of anti-Trump artists, then surely what the artists have must be so much better, beautiful, truer, brighter and more meaningful. And since that is supposedly the case, as insinuated in the art itself, then what and where is it? Come on now, create it and show it! Lead the way into the promise land where all of Trump's supposed negatives do not exist and where the elite liberal Utopia is flourishing waiting for all to enter…

If ever there was a time in the history in our country that we needed vision and hope it is now! And since the majority of the artists out there are just spouting their venom, one can only conclude that they have nothing better to share. That their visible DNA expressed in their art is all they have to offer. That in the end they are as much a part of the problem as the very one they are targeting as being such! One can expect nothing more, for they cannot create or give anything more than what comes from inside of them!
