Houston Texans' Kids Triathlon Champ Christian Deschamps To Lead Team Onto Field

HOUSTON - Aug. 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Twelve year old Christian DesChamps, a rising star in the world of Youth Triathlons and an active champion for children's cancer awareness, will be leading the Houston Texans onto the field this Sunday, August 28th at NRG Stadium.

DesChamps, who placed first in his age group and 3^rd overall male 15 and under in the Houston Texans' Kids Triathlon April 24^th at NRG Stadium, just returned from his first race at the USAT Youth Nationals, where he placed 9th in the nation in his division.  DesChamps has spent the past couple years pursuing his passion - competing in triathlons and raising awareness and funding for children's cancer charity.  At the April event, DesChamps raced in honor of 20 month old Cayleigh, a local Leukemia patient, and was successful not only in the race but in raising money for her continued care.

DesChamps was selected to be one of three overall winners at the race invited to return to NRG Stadium to represent the Triathlon as Hometown Advantage Captains to lead the Houston Texans out of the tunnel and onto the field for the NFL game on August 28^th.

It is not only a joy for the young athlete to get this honor and to be on the field with heroes of his own, like JJ Watt and the rest of the Texans, but another chance for him to bring awareness to his favorite cause, fighting against childhood cancer serving as an ambassador for the Pinky Swear Foundation.

A dedicated young local athlete and an inspiring role model in the making, DesChamps looks forward to representing the Houston Texans Youth Triathlon and Pinky Swear by being a Hometown Advantage Captain at the game.
