Project Expedition Announces Split Payments Technology

Group bookings for tours and activities just got much easier.

NEW YORK - Aug. 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Handling group excursions just got much easier. Project Expedition, a leading discovery and booking resource for tours and activities in travel destinations, today announced the launch of their Split Payments Technology which enables payment processing for individual members of a group reservation.

The Result
The traveler who makes a reservation for a tour no longer has to pay the full cost up front, which means they don't have to chase their travel companions to pay them back.

How It Works
When a traveler books a travel experience for a group of five or more people on Project Expedition, they will have the option to split the cost of the tour among the members of the group. The group leader will input the name and email address of each traveler on the reservation, and the amount they are expected to pay. Project Expedition will then email each member of the group with a secure link to pay their portion of the tour. Once everyone in the group pays, the reservation is processed and confirmed as normal.

"There is nothing more annoying than asking for the check after dinner with friends and being told that you can't split the bill. So you put down your credit card and some friends pay you in cash, some send you money via an app, some offer to pay you back later, and somehow it never adds up. Group bookings don't need to be complicated, and no one likes chasing people for money, so we are glad that our customers won't have to worry about it," said Rob Keen, Co-Founder of Project Expedition.

Even though groups are just one segment of the audience that Project Expedition serves, the release of Split Payments Technology demonstrates their commitment to understanding their customers challenges and providing solutions that enhance their travel experience.

Common Scenarios
Suppose a family of four and a family of six are traveling to Mexico together, and they decide to go whale watching. One person can reserve the tour on behalf of all ten people, and the payment can be split two ways, with the family of four covering 40% of the total cost and the larger family covering 60%.

Perhaps your friend just got married and they ask you to be the maid of honor. The bachelorette party is now your responsibility! If you plan it in Costa Rica and want to have everyone try paddle board yoga in Manuel Antonio National Park, then you can easily reserve the tour on behalf of the group and split the payment so that everyone pays for themselves.

Or maybe five of you are celebrating your friend's birthday in Belize and you want to treat him to a private flight over the Great Blue Hole. Four of you can split the cost of the tour on Project Expedition so that the birthday boy flies free.
