By: Mill Town Music Hall "I am so proud and humbled that Mill Town Music Hall is hosting its 100th performance," Founded in 1982, Diamond Rio began as a bluegrass music band at a Nashville theme park. The band is best known for their eclectic hybrid of modern country, traditional bluegrass and a hint of rock & roll. Their self-titled album became a platinum-selling smash. The lead single, Meet in the Middle, topped the charts, making them the first country group to have a debut single hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. In 2011, they received their first Grammy for Best Southern Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album. The band released a concert album in 2014, and in 2015 released I Made It, their first studio album in six years. Diamond Rio has recorded nine studio albums, four Greatest Hits compilations, and a Christmas album. They have also received four CMA Group of the Year awards and two Top Vocal Group awards from the Academy of Country Music.
