MOUNT VERNON, Wash. - Aug. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- Washington Office of Aerospace Director, John Thornquist, visited Chinook Enterprises last week along with John Sternlicht, EDASC CEO, and other Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County (http://skagit.org/) staff. EDASC organized the day-long tour for Thornquist as part of an ongoing initiative to showcase local businesses who manufacture parts for the aerospace industry.

Sternlicht noted the importance of introducing state Commerce officials to vital Skagit companies such as Chinook. "Not only is Chinook a prominent Boeing supplier, but also its social enterprise mission merits more awareness statewide. These visits help both Skagit and state folks to work together in economic development."

Rob Martin, Chinook Enterprises Founder and CEO led the hour-long tour. "We were very excited to showcase what we do here, and to discuss business opportunities and challenges we face as a social enterprise in the aerospace assembly field."

Chinook's history in aerospace dates back to 1987 when the company began assembling parts for the 747 Program. Over thirty-five years later, Chinook's award-winning production team is busier than ever.
