Up-and-Coming Winery Gets Highest Rating to Date at 96 Points

En Garde Winery Succeeds Again with Their 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

SONOMA, Calif. - Aug. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- En Garde Winery announced today the release of their most highly rated wine to date; 96 points for their 2012 Le Bijou du Roi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. In October, En Garde will be holding a release party for the cabernet, as well as their 2012 Adamus Proprietary Red, which is a Bordeaux-style blend, which has received 3 ratings of 93 to 95 points.

Robert Whitley, notable wine reviewer at WineReviewOnline.com, gave En Garde's 2012 Le Bijou du Roi Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 96 points and said, "Diamond Mountain has long been one of the most distinctive sub-regions of the Napa Valley for cabernet sauvignon, making complex cabs that will improve with age over multiple decades. The En Garde Le Bijou du Roi is an example of the genre."

This vintage also received 95 points from Steve Heimoff, well-known wine book author and reviewer at SteveHeimoff.com. "… a seriously good wine," said Heimoff, "delicious right out of the bottle, with soft, complex tannins framing blackberry jam, crème de cassis, dark chocolate, espresso and anisette flavors that finish long and spicy. As rich as the wine is, it's dry, and the alcohol contributes a welcoming note of warmth. "

In addition to these reviews, En Garde's 2012 Le Bijou du Roi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded 94 Points at the Critics Challenge this year in San Diego. And famed wine reviewer, Robert Parker of Wine Advocate/eRobertParker.com gave the vintage 92 points. "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Le Bijou du Roi is an impressive bottling," said Parker. "This beauty is nicely textured, lush, seductive and complex. Drink it over the next 10-12 years."

Also receiving high ratings was En Garde's 2012 Adamus Proprietary Red—a Bordeaux-style blend—with Heimoff giving it 95 points. It also received 95 points at the 9th Annual Cab Shootout held in March 2016. Parker rated the 2012 Adamus at 93 points, saying, "…The wine is fleshy, succulent, fragrant and sexy. Drink it over the next decade."

En Garde Winery will be holding a release party for both the 2012 Le Bijou du Roi and Adamus on October 8, 2016 where guests will be able to taste both wines, talk with the winemaker, enjoy hors d'oeuvres and taste from the barrels the five Bordeaux varietal components of the Adamus.
