New RCOM plan to provide seamless data calling

NEW DELHI - Aug. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- Reliance Communications, part of the Anil Ambani led Reliance Group is banking on its recently launched app-to-app calling service to take them to the top among MNPs within the next one month.

Gujarat users will enjoy the new pack as per Gurdeep Singh, CEO Consumer Business, who also said  the app-to-app calling data pack will begin with as low as Rs. 39 per month for 200 MB worth of data (equivalent to 300 minutes of app-to-app talk) and will attract more customers to come to the RCom fold.

"Looking at the pace of growth of 4G LTE network in the country, we expect the existing about 70 million 4G handsets in the country will jump to about 500 million by 2020. The pace of growth is likely to be much faster in Gujarat from 4 million 4G handsets currently to about 40 million by 2020. With this launch we aim to become a top player in MNP space," said Singh post the launch of this new service - which will rely on RCom's 850 Mhz spectrum band to provide better connectivity and clarity.

"We see increased data consumption going forward. In about couple of years' time, the revenue share of voice and data will change from the current 76 per cent and 24 per cent respectively to about 60 per cent and 40 per cent with growth in data consumption," said Singh.

He also stated that the latest rollout will provide seamless HD quality app-to-app calling across India and around the world. Existing RCom subscribers who already have data based communication apps like WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, Skyp, Google Hangouts, Viber etc. can make voice and video calls without any hassles through data without having to dial in a number.

This plan will begin in Gujarat and gradually be rolled out across India.
